Rectangular Dielectric Resonator Waveguide filter
The figure below shows
a band pass filter made of a length of rectangular metal walled waveguide.
It is filled with a dielectric material at its two ports and at a central
resonator section. Between the dielectric filled sections are two air
filled sections. The air filled sections contain evanescent waves, while
the dielectric sections have a relative permittivity of ten and contain
propagating TE10 waves.
